Going to sleep to the sound of nature is magical and a privilege. There is camping for the more adventurous, and thenour rustic safari tented option.

Volunteer

Our vision is to inspire a global community of conscious travelers to instigate change within a community in dire need of assistance. The volunteer program mobilizes a global effort to share skills, culture and values.

Education

Africademy is the educational pillar of the reserve. The reserve is not just about providing jobs: teaching skills, offering courses, introducing new topics and opening the local community to opportunities is a primary objective.

Biodiversity Conservation

This piece of pristine biodiversity plays a crucial role in all our lives. Shongweni is our home to Conservation Ethics courses we teach under the Africademy umbrella, as well as to our conservation education courses.

Community Projects

With a variety of projects that aim to uplift local communities the reserve provides the core impetus to this process. Waste4Wisdom, agricultural projects, boat building and community tourism association are a few examples of the deep level of community involvement the reserve is committed to.
