What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead

With the limited resources that Shongweni Nature Reserve have had available to operate, we have reached out to the broader community for help.

Not necessarily in order of importance, we would like to thank:

HeartEco, Sue Winchester and Stuart Oliver for always being available to support us emotionally as well as for many other items we have needed from washing machines to linen and then wood as a resource for our fencing, furniture, stables etc.

Andrea Abbott and Lloyd Mackenzie for documenting the progresses of the reserve on various magazines.

Lisa Coppinger from Memento for creating Shongweni Nature Reserve logo.

We thank KNCU and Canoeing SA (Kim Pople, Janet Simpkins and John Oliver) for their unwavering support that has come through in many different ways. We look forward to realising the many different projects planned for the future.

A special thanks to Cheryl Smart who has supported us in more ways than one can ever imagine (please keep lighting those candles).

Garth Schonewolf, for his energy and participation in #Shongweni67 2019. And to all donnors who participated and donated to make the event a success.

Wim Van Herzeele for his behind the scenes support. You have helped us move mountains.

Members of Umzinyathi and Shongweni Specimen Anglers Association for helping us with equipment, tools and various fixing.

To SRF for your initial support of the Waste4Wisdom program. And to New Frontiers for sponsoring our mountain climbing equipment.

Daniel Stewart, Louise Mitchell, Llumé Geel and Hayley Gunter for rescuing one of our zebra caught in a poacher’s snare.

Umzinyathi Canoe Club and Spirit of Adventure for embracing the changes and understanding the vision.
